Posthumous

Posthumous explores a world made of only the repurposed - homes and faces carved from the shells of dead gods, bodies glorified katamaris of rubble and scrap metal, and even sources of life being hand-me-downs from a people that no longer exist.Life here was not created by God, hand sculpted in any image, but Echoes, emerged from leftovers never intended for them, like weeds growing in the cracks between concrete.Whale Fall is a peek into this world, inspired by the real-life phenomenon where a whale's carcass sinks to the bottom of the sea for lesser animals to feed upon and use as sanctuary. The "whale" is one of the A Priori, a carefully crafted doll, delicate and intricately carved from what looks like porcelain, but abandoned nonetheless. Those that remain find value not in the beauty of dead leviathans, but in the fuel they can extract, like mosquitoes sucking blood.Deceit is a design of a echo that wants to escape its nature, hungry to be like those who came before, loved by a creator, brought into the world with purpose. How does one mold themselves into God's image when God will not speak to them? How does one accept existing despite of God, and not because?Silence - abandonment - brings some to contentment, some to desolation, some to curiosity, and some to acting out in violence, a language that insists upon being heard.
